Programs
The DFW Chapter is only as good as its ongoing mix of programs and events. We have committees to help organize monthly luncheons in Dallas and Fort Worth, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and Special Events.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) – Be a part of any one of these exciting groups. Get involved with SIG events from start to finish in whatever capacity fits your expertise…coordination of communications, venue selection, catering, sponsor coordination, or speaker coordination. This is a volunteer position to learn all about what happens behind the scenes…a great experience you can take with you as you achieve your career goals. New Media SIG – Director (1 opening) and committee members (3-4 openings). Looking for team players who are able to meet approximately once per month to organize 2 to 3 events per year.

Market Research SIG – Committee member (1-2 openings). Looking for team players who are able to meet approximately once per month to organize 2 to 3 events per year.

Healthcare SIG – Committee member (2 openings). Looking for team players who are able to meet approximately once per month to organize 2 to 3 events per year.

Small/Medium Business SIG – Director (1 opening) and committee members (3-4 openings). Looking for team players who are able to meet approximately once per month to organize 2 to 3 events per year.

Technology SIG – Committee member (4 openings). Looking for team players who are able to meet approximately once per month to organize 2 to 3 events per year.

Dallas Executive Luncheons – needed now – be a part of the team that organizes the Dallas flagship executive luncheons featuring CMO level speakers. Contact EVP Executive Luncheons at dallasluncheons@dfwama.com.

 Communications
The Communications committee is responsible for setting the marketing strategy for the chapter and then executing various tactical activities to drive awareness, event attendance, membership, and all internal and external contact with the DFW business community. This group is charged with helping “connect” with chapter members and prospective members, oversees the chapter website as well as generating a monthly e-newsletter, weekly emails, chapter promotional tools, public relations, social media, mobile messages and event announcements as needed. 
Needed Now – People with public relations experience to help propose strategies and implement activities promoting the chapter and its members and events. Contact EVP Communications at communications@dfwama.com for more information.
Sponsorship

The chapter operates on income from chapter dues and events, but it’s real potential to deliver exceptional speakers, programs and learning opportunities lies with donations and sponsorship dollars from DFW businesses, organizations and corporations. What’s more, as a fully registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, the DFW AMA Chapter can provide to sponsors a fully tax-deductible statement that can be applied to the bottom-line.

 

Needed Now - People with strong selling and communication skills to communicate the value of the AMA to potential sponsors. Also need people in account management-type role to ensure sponsors are receiving their promised benefits. Contact EVP Sponsorship at sponsorship@dfwama.com for more details.
Membership
Membership Development Team - (3 people needed) This team represents the DFW AMA to local companies and encourages them to become active members. Contact companies in the DFW area to let them know of our group membership program and the value of their employees being members and coming to events. Share the value proposition of the DFW AMA and be able to communicate to a CMO why they should get their team involved. If you are the outgoing sales type and are a strong believer in the value of the DFW AMA then this is the team for you. This is also a great way to build your connections in the DFW area. Work with the EVP of Membership Development. Need one volunteer in Fort Worth and two for the Dallas area (4 – 6 hours a month)Membership Ambassadors - If you are an AMA member and would like to use your friendly attitude to help welcome new members and improve member retention by connecting to new and renewing members, we are looking for 2 more volunteers for these positions.This would be a great fit for someone who prefers to communicate through the phone or email. Work with the EVP of New Memberships (2- 3 hours per month)Membership Information Team – (one needed) Process attendee data from each event and keep our database up to date. Coordinate the information to use in membership campaigns that we have in the Spring and Fall. Prepare spread sheet to give to membership team and DFW AMA Board once a month by pulling the report from the AMA site and sending out to team. Work with the EVP of Membership Information. (3- 4 hours a month)Membership Event Team – (two needed) If you like to plan events, help us find the next location for our monthly Meet & Greet events. Find a venue, get the contract signed, submit the event promotion sheet, enjoy the party. Repeat. Work with the EVP of Membership Events (3-4 hours a month)Membership Communications team - (one needed) Communicate examples of Member Value to our members and prospective members. Highlight resources the AMA offers that people may not be aware of and create content that shares our story to prospective members. Work with the DFW AMA Communications team to post information about member value and testimonies that encourage new members to get more involved. Work with the EVP of Membership Communications (3 – 4 hours a month).


Executive Director

 

Needed Now – Check in Team. The Check In Team is forming a solid committee to provide a consistent team to greet and check in attendees at all Chapter events. We currently have two great members of this team, but need 4 more superstars to commit to working JUST TWO events per month, as well as a Check In Team Director to keep us on track and organized. Collegiate Relations

Our Collegiate Relations Committee works to form an alliance between student AMA members and the professional chapter during a student’s tenure in school and after their graduation into the professional ranks. We do this by offering support to collegiate chapter leaders and members, and by encouraging the students to participate in professional chapter programs throughout the year. Contact EVP Collegiate at collegiate@dfwama.com if you are interested in helping to shape the future of aspiring marketing professionals.

Needed Now – DFW AMA Collegiate Communications Volunteer for TCU (Go Frogs!).  This opening is available to any DFW AMA member (no need to be a TCU alum). Our goal is to expand communications between our DFW AMA professional chapter and the TCU AMA student members, officers and faculty advisors.  Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating communications for the DFW AMA Events and TCU Collegiate Events – 2 to 3 hours of emailing per month.
  • Meeting and maintaining relationships with TCU AMA faculty advisor and chapter officers – possible meeting or conference call with faculty and 1 to 2 hours per semester of maintaining TCU contact list.
  • Primary point of contact to handle questions from collegiate advisors and members – recommending speakers, coordinating possible networking events and promoting collegiate attendance at DFW AMA Executive Luncheons.

Volunteers

The Volunteer Committee is responsible for volunteer recruitment, retention, and satisfaction. As such it plays matchmaker by casting volunteers in roles where they can excel by working with Board Members to make sure all of our committees are fully staffed. It also manages volunteer appreciation while meeting all of the new members, and those who just wish to help out in our Chapter. 
Volunteer Relationship Manager (1-2 openings) – Various activities designed to maintain and enhance relationships with volunteers throughout their tenure. Committee meetings required.
Database Manager – Manages chapter database, communicates regularly with committee heads and works closely with EVP. Committee meetings required.

Communications Coordinator – Manages open volunteer positions, including promotion of them. Committee meetings required.
